The annual anniversary vacation

We went on vacation again for our anniversary this year. This time we spent 4 days in Park City.
We spent a lot of time shopping at the outlets and in the town. But my personal favorite place to shop was at the Silly Sunday Market, which Dexter promptly nicknamed "The Hippie Fair" since it's put on by environmentalists who only sell things that have been reused or recycled. I love to see random street fairs:
I really want to try to make a silverware wind-chime now...
At the fair, I bought some funky handmade necklaces and learned how to make really neat flower hair clips out of aluminum cans.

The next day, we visited a ski resort where we learned about the history of skiing and what to do during an avalanche.

Then we tried to be professional athletes at the Olympic Park:
Dex learned that he really wants to try bobsledding. I learned that climbing on the luge is terrifying even if it is bolted to the floor.
We also got to see real athletes training. Who knew that skiers practiced their aerials by skiing down a ramp made out of a giant tarp and then flipping into a deep swimming pool with all their gear on? Yes, they actually swim with skis on their feet (and thankfully have life jackets).
It was a gold medal vacation.
